Why does the news always have to be bad news? Never anything good?

and it seems like people enjoy it and love to hear it especially if they dont like the person who who has had the bad news happen to them,for example that Crocodile dude who hung his baby out for a show.People love to hear this kind of unfortunate news even though they dont like what that guy did. Is this not a contradiction for the media.

  1. Because bad news sells.  Newspapers and T.V. News play with people´s morbid curiosity.  Deep in ourselves we tend to think:  Oh it is good that it didn´t happened to me.  (let´s see what happened to them, and not me)


  2. seems to pay the bills from advertising...unfortunately, someone getting an award or recognition is always bumped when a pissed off boyfriend shoots the former boyfriend

  3. It makes people feel better about their own lives.  It's an affirmation of "I am ok.  I am blessed".

  4. Because unfortunately alot of the news in the world is bad, and it sell much better then all good news.
