Why does the postman take so long these days?

It used to be that hed be here at 12 o clock but now he turns up at about 2.30 lol, its annoying, especially as I have to wait in and listen for the door, I cant even play music lol.

That's a sign that maybe you need to get some sort of a social life. I couldn't imagine getting my mail being the highlight to making my day. Letter carriers are simply getting a larger route and there is more junk mail than ever before in history for them to sort before they deliver.

My sister gets her post in the mid afternoon. mine comes at 7.45am-ish. Just their rounds.

They are now coming later as they are not allowed to start delivering as early as they used to apparently.

Well not in our area anyway, and I believe this applies all over England if not all the uk now.

Complain to the delivery office then he can get a smaller round and another postman that has a small delivery can pick up the difference . Everyones happy!!

With regards to postman not knocking on doors, not all postman are the same. Maybe its just your postman who does that.

This is just my personal theory:

So many people are using emails these days that the post people have noticed that there is not much mail that needs to be sent anymore so they change the time tables (or slack off).

Because Dagwood Bumstead has moved into your neighborhood, and he sends them on 45 day workman's comp. leave by bolting out the door, when he is late for work.  He almost always runs into the mail delivery person with enough force to cause bodily injury.  Quite a feat when you condider Dagwood to be at least 90 plus in age.  Blondie, still looks hot too!

There have been so many trying to upset the postman that he could be reacting by  demonstrating his role in society - something the upsetters are prone to overlook.

Same here, we used to get our post at 8am but now it's late morning to early afternoon.

And they don't even knock on the door if you have a parcel, they just slip the "sorry you were out" leaflet through the letterbox!!!

It seemed to start right around the time the Post Office became privatised....hmmm...

It's just like the milkman.  He used to arrive around 5am, now your lucky to get your milk before you leave for work at 7:30.

You then come home to milk with the top missing 'cos the birds have had it, or your house has been robbed 'cos they knew you weren't at home!!

Posties don't like getting up early anymore - unless you pay them!!
