  1. because they have and are planning to re release more PS1 games via the PS Store.  So the PS3 needs to be able to play them.

  2. thoughs are downloads that's why and you got a 4g that's why it does not play ps2 games

  3. You probably have a 40GB PS3 and so you can only play PS1 games but the 20,60 and 80 gig can all play ps2 and ps1 games

  4. because the ps3 is not suited for ps2 games.

if it did play ps2 games it would of maybe tooken more that a year to generate the ps2 games

  5. Because u've bought the 40GB PS3 which only plays PS1 and PS3 games, the 20GB, 60GB and 80GB all play PS1, PS2 and PS3 games on the PS3.

  6. you probably got the 40 g but the 80 g 60 g and 20g can play both ps2 and ps3

  7. The PS1 is weak enough compared to the PS3 that the PS3 can emulate it entirely and do a good job of it. The power gap between the PS2 and PS3 is not as significant, so the PS3 can't do it.
