Why does the queen dress the same as her late mother?

why does she not make her husband more prominent? why dosn't she step aside and allow charles to be king now? don;t you think she is just a little boinkers?

    - not the British way. Philip is the Queens consort and knows his place.

    -it's not in the rules of the game. She's queen until she dies and thats the way it should be. the whole idea of having a Monach is that its outside the realm of political fads.

    - no I don't. She's a great lady who works very hard for her country despite her age. Most of her work is behind the scenes. Don't knock what you don't know.

  5. The reason the Queen dresses like her mum is she's stuck with wardrobes full of hand me downs, they are just the right size and she's too tight to give them to the local hospice shop. So she may as well get some wear out of them!

  7. You may not appreciate it but times are hard in ol' England at the moment and everyone is feeling the pinch, even the Royals. So Liz, as she is affectionately known to her mates dips into her mums old wardrobe and has a sift through. What she cant wear goes to the Charity shops or to Camilla. As for Phil, known to his mates as 'Nick the Greek' prefers to keep a low profile especially when they go to the Windsor Bingo hall on Saturday nights and the Knightsbridge Kebab House afterwards. As for Charlie, no chance, he prefers tree hugging and talking to plants, with Camilla in tow he has no chance with the English public, what a bow wow, her face looks like it caught fire and was put out with a shovel. Flog the whole lot of them to the yanks, they will buy anything. the word is Bonkers and I am now preparing myself for a journey to the tower.

  8. 1)The Queen is notoriuosly tight! She's wearing Ma's clothes to avoid buying new ones.

    2) Phil the Greek is a loose cannon. The man is completely bonkers and in royal tradition members of the family that can't be reined in will be hidden or gotten rid of.

    3) Charles is weak and can't be trusted. Anyone that can betray their wife in such a calulated way, could betray their country. Look at his pathetic attempts to change the Church of England vows.

    4) I think the Queen is the sanest of them all.

  10. Why does she dress like her mother? They're both old ladies, for her age she dresses appropriately.

    She doesn't make her husband more prominent because she is the monarch, he is her consort not her equal.

    She doesn't abdicate because unlike many other monarchies it is traditional to reign until you die in this country.

    Why do you think she's bonkers, she's done a sterling job for over 50 years and if it ain't broke don't fix it.

Chase Best Dressed List while an American contemporary, Barbara Bush, makes the worst-dressed list.  As a young queen, Elizabeth dressed in too mature a style primarily because she shared the Queen Mum's designers.  By the 1970s, she began to adopt a more fashion-forward way of dressing, wearing shorter skirts, however.  Actually, her choices at that time weren't too different from Monaco's Princess Grace. Over a fifty-year time span, both mother and daughter shared a similarly short stature, and both ordinarily dressed for their age and station.

    As for Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh, in 1953 Elizabeth tried to elevate him to Prince Consort, but her grandmother, Queen Mary, strongly urged Prime Minister Winston Churchill to advise against this perhaps because of his sisters' husbands' ties to n**i Germany.  

    Tradition--The heir to the British throne doesn't become king or queen until the current king or queen dies.  No queen or king has abdicated to make way for his or her heir (with the single exception of Edward VIII), although Elizabeth has certainly expanded Prince Charles' responsibilities.

    The Queen is 81.  She is doing quite well for her age.

    She is not remotely bonkers or senile or in anyway incapacitated.

    Why should she step aside to allow Charles to be King. Best leave things as they are until the poor lady feels that she can no longer cope.
