  1. For the same reason that Hurricanes never happen in Hertfordshire!

  2. The line is: "The rain in Spain stays mainly on the plain."  And it was invented by either George Bernard Shaw or Alan Jay Lerner for Pygmalion/My Fair Lady, and the only reason it exists at all is because it rhymes and uses the long A sound in English, for the purpose of teaching Eliza Doolittle that sound.  Nothing could be further from the truth, in fact.  The plains of Spain are actually quite dry.  Try going to La Mancha in the summertime!  The mountains and coasts are much rainier.

  3. So all the illegal Brits wont get wet

  4. its stopped raining in the region of catalunya.. so i wish it would rain on the plain so that we won´t have a water shortage this year..

    take care..

  5. Where I live in Andalucia we haven't had any decent rain for almost 4 years. We've had days of rain but that's about it, just days. Our reservoir is so very low. I don't live in the plains, I live in the mountains. This week they forecast heavy rain, but they've forecast that before and it missed us.

  6. It doesn't. Sierra de Grazalema is the rainiest place in Spain. That is a low mountain range in Andalucia. It alos rains a lot in Galicia and other place in the North.

As some else said, the plain, La Mancha, is among the least rainy.
