Why does the second half of the small intestine have a greater supply of blood vessels than the first half.

  1. Your gut really isn't "in" your body.  It's a tube that runs through your body.  In order to get nutrition out of food, your body has to actually absorb the nutrients across the intestinal wall into your body cells.  The absorped sugars, amino acids, lipids, vitamins, minerals are transported through your blood to the rest of your body.  So, the areas where there is the greatest supply of blood vessels are the areas where there is the most absorption of nutrients.


  2. well there's three parts of the intestine the deudonem (check spelling) the jenjunum (spelling) and the ileum anyway the first part is mainly to break down food the other two parts are used to absorb the nutrients from the food into the blood stream and that is why there are a greater supply of blood vessels
