  3. It's not the whole truth. Not only the sun, but the whole sky is bigger in Africa. ;)

  4. The sun looks no bigger in Africa than anyplace else.

    You've perhaps seen TV pictures of sunset in tropical places, in which they make the sun look huge, and it seems to move really fast.  All you're seeing, though, is footage shot with a telephoto lens.  It's a camera trick.  The real sun looks just like it does where you are.
