  1. He was an older version, they had made newer model robots and he died saving there lives. Its been a while since I saw it but,I believe that is why.

  2. he killed himself because any trace of him (like in the 1st one) would lead companies to create skynet and the machines would destroy the world

  3. You mean The T-800 or the T-1000? Well They melted the T-1000 down because it was the only way to kill him. Very lucky they just happened to crash into a foundry in that final act huh? As for the T-800(Arnold) He terminated himself because he still had technology inside him that could give birth to Skynet.

  4. Because the terminator is a robot and still a threat to the future as there is a microchip in its head and this microchip can be cloned to produce more robots that could destroy mankind by Skynet, that's why it has to be self-destruct to prevent future wars between mankind and robots

  5. stand back .. im a Terminator 2mist.. lol ..

    my fave film btw

    uum ..

After John throws the parts from the first Terminator into the molten metal, the Terminator tells him that he too must be destroyed to prevent his technology from being used to create Skynet. He tells Sarah that he cannot self-terminate, and she must lower him into the steel. John tearfully begs the Terminator not to leave, but the Terminator insists it must be done.

he had to be terminated as he still had the technology in his huanoid skull to help Skynet ..

  6. Oh I Dunno But I Know Theres A 3 And A 4

    Terminator 3:Rise OF The Machines

    Terminator 4:Salvaton

And The Show The Sarah Conner Chronicals

  7. Because if he stayed around, they figured skynet would be built. Their thinking is that if he is destroyed and the chip and the arm, that gets rid of anything that had technology wise they would give birth to skynet.
