Why does the thought of s*x repulse me?

I was propositioned by 2 different men yesterday and it nearly made me heave. Is it the manner in which men ask for s*x or is it the act itself that is disgusting me?

I love s*x, but the idea of being propositioned also repulses me. On a psychological level, for me it's to do with the idea that they want to use me, that that's all I'm worth. This fits a little too closely with my true level of self esteem (low) and that's why I am repulsed. Such an act with a guy is like confirming my worst thoughts about myself, so I immediately reject the idea.
