Why does the videos lag on my phone?

i have got the family guy dvd season 6 and daniusoft dvd ripper, when i rip some clips to my phone (Nokia 5610, XpressMusic) and play it, it lags on my phone but plays really smoothly on my computer, my phone does not support Divx,

can i make it not lag by turning down the bitrate or something? i want a good quality and no lag video on my phone, i can never get both, only one, i.e bad quality no lag or good quality but lag. plz help! thanks!

Ripping DVD I usually use E.M. Free DVD copy. because it lets me rip dvd easily, and it allows me rip DVD to other popular video formats such h264, Xvid, MOV, VOB, Mpeg, Mpeg4, Mpeg TS, AVI, WMV, and so on.

so I can watch dvd movies on portable player like iPod, iPhone etc. conveniently. it can divides dvd into different chapters, I can rip my I favorite ones. in addtion to, it can copy whole DVD to hard disc.
