  1. There's all kinds of nasty stuff growing inside the hose because the water sits and stagnates in it when you're not using it.  In the house, you run the water much more often and there isn't time for much to grow because you keep the pipes flushed out.  Also, the water outside may be picking up the taste and smell of rubber from the hose.

  2. ur outside water isnt hooked up to the inside of ur house i have the same problem

  3. Your outside water is likely coming directly from a well.  Your inside water is likely coming from a filtered source - either a municipal system that treats the water or some sort of standalone filtration system.

  4. could be the hose you're smelling.

  5. molds and mildew growing inside the hose

  6. It sounds like your water inside your home is on city water and the water for the outside is on the old well.  A lot of people would do that to save on the water bill when watering the lawn and flowers.  This way the can have good water inside the home and no iron stains and such.  The rotten egg smell could be caused from iron or sulfur in the water if on the old well.

If there is no well.....it could be bacteria growing inside of the line to the spigot or in the spigot.
