Why does the world need tolerance?

Please explain why do we need. If you want, you may also put why we do not need.

Tolerance is for me, not really the other person.  I had to learn tolerance to reduce my stress.  I have a friend that tells this story.  She use to get really angry about people who drove like crazy. Then one night she got a call.  One of her dearest loved one was in the hospital. He had committed suicide. Would she come.  Well, she was so upset and scared that she was driving like a menace. Pulling out in front of people, speeding, making short stops, etc... So, after this experience she became more tolerant of other crazy drivers, because she didn't know their story.  Maybe they too were heading to the hospital in a panic.

We need tolerance to be able to live in the big community which is the world peacefully.

It's called manners. It's called being polite. It's called being nice. And if you have to judge, then judge on merit and skill..
