  1. because the earth spins on its axis, and it rotates around the sun. the spinning on its axis causes day and night.

  2. Because an object once set in motion stays in motion unless acted upon by an outside other force.

It would take an enormous force to stop the earth from spinning so the earth like the energizer bunny keeps going and going and going around and around and around.

  3. It has changed position.

The earth is spinning around the sun

The sun is spinning around the center of the galaxy

The galaxy is hurtling through the universe.

I say I live 200 miles from my birthplace, but really my birthplace is billions of miles away by now.

Also, Google the term "Platonic Year".  This shows more detail about the "wobble" in Earth's cycle around the sun, and why, for instance, the star that is the North star today was not the North star when the pyramids were built.
