  1. Good question - I haven't had my hands on one for ages!!!

    Then again, it's been a while since I've had any paper money! lol


  2. Since so many people need them, it just appears that there aren't enough in circulation.

  5. Five pound notes are the most circulated compared with the other notes and these things don't last forever. They eventually wear out but the problem is the Bank of England isn't printing enough of them

  6. They last the least amount of time in general circulation of all the denominations of Monetary Notes & they are NOT issued frm ATMs unlike the £10 & £20 Notes !

  7. A surprisingly simple reason, they are very rarely dispensed in ATM cash machines anymore

  8. I can tell you for certain I don't have them , I had to take a mortgage out to fill the car with diesel yesterday. I'vr got a kidney earmarked for next weeks fill up.

  9. there not dispensed in cash machines so they are not in circulation the same way 10's and 20's are well that's my theory
