Why does this cardinal keep coming back to my window?

it ripped my screen and it climbs through the hole and keeps banging its beak against my window. it has been doing this for 4 days, all day long. Any body know what this whacky bird is looking for?

This is very common during the breeding season when birds are very territorial.  He is attacking his own reflection mistaking it for an intruder.  Here are some tips to get him to stop:

Cardinals are very territorial bird. It probably caught it's reflection and is trying to chase the "offender" off of it's territory.
