Why does this happen to me and others?

I farted last night and it smelled like a rotten egg or possibly boiled egg. I haven't eaten an egg in several days why does this happen sometimes?

  1. as your food digests and breaks down it can release certain gases i.e. the reason we all f**t, eggs usually smell like that because of the sulfur they have so you must have just been eating foods with alot of sulfur lately thats all


  2. So based on the last two answers since my farts sometimes smell like old tires or rags  I have eaten some type of rubber or towel over the last few days or so? Some peoples farts just smell like boiled or rotten eggs regardless. I have a friend of mine that could go a year without eating anything with eggs and it's a sure bet he will let out an egg salad f**t everytime. Who knows probably has to do with the plumbing and maybe different gases along with your poopie which produces a certain smell? Either way that is a sure fire way of clearing the room.  

  3. chances are, that you did indeed eat eggs, in something else you ate. However, it seems that most processed meats are treated with a sulphur based product to keep them fresh longer. So, if you had something as simple as a  salami sandwich, it could produce that smell
