Why does this happen when i put in coordinates?

ok i used a gps to write down some coordinates of a few spots but when i enter the coordinates they end up popping up in china.

the coordinates are North and West coordinates. if you need any other info just add it in your post and check back and ill post it asap.

Maybe your GPS was from China (he he)... or is damaged.

Does it have a valid warranty?

I think your longitude (west) coordinate is not being entered properly.  Make sure when you are entering the coordinates that you have chosen N or W.  On some receivers, it will show a minus sign instead of a W.  If yours does this, make sure your W coordinate is entered with a minus sign.  -88.47232 instead of W88.47232 for example.

there is a difference between degrees/minutes/seconds and decimal degrees.
