  1. The Pope's objection offends me.

  2. B/C Such "art" is desecrating to a know-en religious symbol.

The cross as a know-en symbol of Christianity is done this way in an effort to incite anger and or to draw attention to the work of a, more often than not, so so artist.

Its all about the money baby.

We as Christians have not seen any thing yet that will really say the satan is, why we allow ourselves to be drawn into such non sense is however beyond me.

  3. It "has offended the religious feelings of many people who consider the cross a symbol of God's love and of our redemption," Pahl quoted the pope as writing in the letter.

It makes a mockery of the unimaginable and perfect sacrifice that our Eternal God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost and the Blessed Virgin Mary made for man kinds Salvation. I am in complete agreement with the Holy Father. What some may say is art is a simply tasteless and a mockery of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His and our Holy Blessed Mother.

  4. Because he hasn't got one

  5. I wonder when the riots and embassy burnings will start...

    Oh wait, wrong group...

  6. Tacky, Tasteless and done only to offend. It does not anger me but I find it rude.

  7. Doesn't the pope realize that his anger about this has caused more people to find out about the statue? Now more people will just ridicule the Catholic church. Maybe some other artists will try to offend the pope as well, hoping for their day in the spotlight.

  8. Because it's making fun of our Holy men,Jesus! How could someone make fun of something holy and of someone who died for all of us in order to save us from our own sins?

    I don't blame,our Pope.

  9. The Pope and the Catholics should use this incident to say "Ya well it has offended us, but SEE we are not marching in the streets, beating our chests, and calling for the death of the artist or the art gallery, etc. We forgive you".

Ya- unlike that other "peaceful religion".

  10. What the f*ck do you think sherlock?

  11. Well, I can see why it's upsetting, but I think they should lighten up once they learn that it's actually an abstract self-portrait of the artist, and that it wasn't meant to mock the cross or Jesus.

  12. It "has offended the religious feelings of many people who consider the cross a symbol of God's love and of our redemption," as quoted by the pope.

  13. I don't know, the Pope gets pretty uptight about depictions of Christ as well for some reason, there was a sculpture of Jesus in chocolate called My Sweet Lord that a bunch of catholics objected to a few years ago, and p**s Christ of course, that really got people going.
