  1. The older you get the faster time flies.  When you're five years old, a year is one fifth of your life. That makes it seem like an impossibly long time, especially if you're five and have to wait until next year for something you really want.

In comparison, when you're 20, a year is only one twentieth of your life, and while the days don't exactly fly by yet, a year doesn't seem like the eternity it was at five.

here are some links to similar theories...

  2. Because we live busy lives in this world of ours!!!

Some of us don't, therefore time does not fly,

we have time to live life in a more balance way.

  3. Because you're learning new things.   When you get out of school, time drags on slowly while you do the same thing all the time.   It only goes fast when you look back and realize you've been doing the same job for the last 19 years and have nothing to show for it.

  4. The older you get the more time you have experienced and the fast time seems to be.

It's like when you are grown up and go to somewhere you havn't been since you were a kid and the place seems tiny.

  5. I feel EXACTLY the same way.  In fact, I find it somewhat ironic that I actually found a question that relates SO much to my situation, just by browsing around on Y! Answers.

I actually just graduated from eighth grade as well.  I swear, it all went by so fast, you're right.  I always dreaded eighth grade, that's why when the time finally came, I was just like wow this is it.  I knew I would have to say goodbye to my friends and say hello to highschool, and I hated that.  So, I tried to make grade eight the best year of my life... and it was.  Everyone in my class seemed to come so close together this last year, we've all become very attached to each other.  We knew the day would come, and that's why I think we tried to make the most of the time we had left.

The last day of school came just like that.  I still remember our first day like it was yesterday.  The last day had finally arrived, and it felt like we were just beginning.  I don't understand it.  It's like, the years before, time didn't seem to fly by as fast as it did this year.  It's sad, really.  Everyone was crying when we heard the school bell ring for a final time.  We knew we had to go our seperate ways.

I guess the saying, "Time flies when you're having fun" is true. It hurts a lot, trust me I know, when the good times come to an end.  But hey, try as best as you can to stay in contact with your friends, that's what I'm trying to do.

Good luck in high school! :)
