Why does virtually every religion think they are the most persecuted ?

It makes me laugh when pagans, Christians, etc. argue about who has experienced the most persecution throughout history. Do they WANT people to push them around because of their religion?

It's all attention.......It just plain old complaining. Whoever can complain the most can get there words out and heard. It's like recruiting.  We as a whole should learn from the past(all religions) from the story's so we don't make the same mistakes again. So quite recruiting and deal. We wasn't even there and we can learn from it even if it's true or not. I am Pagan and truth be told we all hurt one another.

some groups can say they we're persecuted some can not almost every religion has been persecuted but the extent and time frame is something that has a big impact and whether they went and persecuted others because of it

Because certain religions raise people in their churches to think that way, people hear their whole life that they are persecuted.

I wouldn't really put the Pagans in the same group with the Christians though, since they *are* a minority and have put up with a lot from the larger religious followings. It's the majority religions that are ridiculous when they whine about it.

Atheists are statistically the most mistrusted group in America right now.

Do we want to be pushed around because of what we believe... Uh, No! But the Bible does clearly state that we as believers in Jesus Christ will be persecuted for his name's sake... So in reality the people who believe and put their trust in Jesus Christ are the ones who are persecuted more often. It's okay, we knew this was going to happen. I'll gladly take ridicule, and be made fun of for my God. For it doesn't even compare to what he has done for me, or you... When you ask this question think of all the believers in those countries where they can't even own a Bible, and if they get caught with one, most likely they are killed... Then, who do you think get the most persecution? Note: The Bible stands for Jesus, considering it's his word...

Christians today who think they are persecuted need to take a razor blade coated in lime juice and shove it up their rears. There has never been a more powerful majority in history. Muslims, pagans, Jews, and nonbelievers are all catching flak from the Bible-thumping asshat Christians... who have the nerve to claim there is a "War on Christmas".
