Okay...so in gym...we're doing volleyball...and our gym teacher says that when we pass and stuff, our arms should be like...as flat as we can make them...and then we should contact the ball on like our forearms, since it hurts and you could possibly break something if you hit it with your hand or wrist...well I did that but it still hurts my forearms!!! :( Why does volleyball have to hurt???

  1. its not that bad,u will get used to hitting it on ur forearms, adn if u do it enugh u get little purple dots on ur fore arm!!!

i luv volleyball, it doesnt hurt.

  2. I know exactly what you mean sometimes  I'm on the court and a girl will spike it over so hard i wont to scream because of the pain, but after a while you wont feel it any more, trust me I know. So probably by the time you guys stop playing volleyball in gym, you wont even feel the pain anymore so that a bummer. but yeah back to what i was saying pain is a part of the game and that ball hitting your arms is nothing compared to the pain of diving for a ball with out knee pads, so think of that when you feel the pain.

oh and if someone hits you with the ball, then spike the ball on them with all your strength and see what happens to their arms

  3. not to me...youll get used to it. volleyball is AMAZING

  4. well, the reason it hurts is because you are just not used to it. if it hurts SO badly that you can't bear it, ask your gym teacher if you can wear long sleeves during the volleyball unit. hopefully it won't hurt so badly after wearing long sleeves.

  5. Because thats how you hit the ball! Yeah if your on a volly ball team you'll get used to it!

  6. haha well you have to get used to the ball. Yea it can jam fingers or wrist and stuff, but it shouldnt hurt your forarms for more then a week, if your using a standered ncaa ball or gym ball. youll get used to it.

  7. Your soft. How does a volleyball hurt? Your doing it wrong. You have to keep your arms straight and use you legs to push up to pass. Where I am, we sometimes practice wit basketballs and medicine balls. No but seriously, how can it hurt. You have to get used to passing with the right part of your arm.

  8. You're probably using crappy balls in your gym class too

  9. yeh it hurts a lot but u must be hitting it in the wrong place like the veins or sumtin

  10. you're weak.

  11. Youll get used to it...it does take a little while but you will.

But dont hit the ball with your hands when I first started playing I hurt the  bone on the side of my hand near my thumb.

It stings when you first start.

The way they teach volley ball in gym you probably wont be used to it until your teachers done teaching it.

    Good luck.

  12. yeah it is going to hurt because it is coming to you at such a fast speed. You are going to have to get use to it and you will so don't worry about breaking anything unless you have really weak bones lol but I hope I was of help and I sorry it hurts now.

  13. It does have to hurt yea, but that is bc of the ball making contact with your forearmsand such a possible speed that it can easily bruise, just continue playing sooner or later it'll stop hurting and also you WILL jam fingers, just play through pain and bandage those up and you should eb fine

  14. ...Because a ball's hitting your arm. At a high velocity. XD I'm completely sore from practice though, but you get used to it.

  15. you wont break any bones and it hurts because you are not use to it
