Why does water taste weird in the morning?

Well at least it does to me. in the afternoon it's a lot more fresh in my mouth, but in the morning it isn't..i dont understand.

It can simply be the result of sleeping. Many things taste different. I am usually parched and swig down 2 glasses of water immediately.

Also I don't know what kind of water you are drinking. If it is tap water then I can understand it being funky. It always is. I am so used to purified water that driking tap water tastes like swimming pool water to me.
