Like today for no reason I was just on Itunes listening to my Itunes Library the songs i bought the other day, And bam it freezes and i had to hold in the power button for a few seconds and restart it that way it also freezes sometimes when I just have a few programs downloading, and stuff, I have no virus no spyware or nothing the computer I say is a year old, its the newest gateway system, I bought it off of HSN network, t.v. But it always runs perfect but this happens to me now and then, also my fan in the modem will roar really loud, I called gateway about this I called three times for different people so I can see what they say they said its nothing its just how it cools down faster witch I agree I'm on this thing all day lol, But the thing is I emailed them to they said if it runs perfect and just makes a loud fan roaring noise its just cooling and nothing to worry about everything is up to date on here I just don't get why the unsuspecting freezes now and then.

  1. omg that happened to mee to hah idk why it does that but i like windows vista

  2. the problem would be most likely be resolved if u change the memory module and replace with a new one because in using more application the cache will not work with ssome memeory module and if u replace u will find the solution.

  3. ughhh that happens to me too it always says "internet explorer has stopped working" then everything I'm doing shuts off and the screen refreshes vista is quite the butt -__-

  4. maybe you're doing too many things at once and don't have a lot of memory. you could have a lot of processes running that clog up your computer and causes it to freeze.

check the processes running by pressing ctrl + alt + delete and clicking the processes tab. delete anything you don't need (google the names if you're unsure)

  5. You may need to upgrade your ram, the same problem happens to me all the time, especially when i had vista home premium, so I had to use home basic because it required less ram and the problem ended.

  6. its Vista it just does it sometimes... theres no real way to fix , unless you get a quad core system, which vista is really ideally suited for.
