Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

1st it divides asunder soul(Adam1)<-->spirit(Adam2): 1Cor 15:45

2nd also divides asunder joints(laws)<-->marrow(grace): Heb 4:12

As if to wrongly & rightly divide the word of truth, for compare-i-son

1Corinthians 15 has 2 comparisons:

Adam1(soul)<-->Adam2(spirit)

But as in Adam all die; So also compare

Adam2(spirit)<-->Christ(spirit)

All die <--> All made alive

1Corinthians 2:13 (comparing exhortation)

comparing spiritual things (laws) with spiritual (grace)

1John 4

try the spirits, not the Adams fami-lies;

for one is the spirit of error: anti-christ

2Corinthians 10:12 (comparing admonition)

comparing them(Adam) vs them(Adam) is not wise = foolish

Genesis 5

them = male and female Adam

So then, should we stop at Adam1 vs Adam2,

or go on to Christ of Adam2 vs Christ?

Should we stop at Law1 vs Law2,

or go on to Grace of Law vs Grace?

Should we stop at Them1 vs Them2,

or go on to Us-ward is neither of Them?

Should we stop at Division and not peace,

or go on unto Peace and not dividead?

  1. Why is it so difficult to accept the scripture at face value. Could it not mean exactly what it says? The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

    Those who study Jesus' teachings know that to be true. He was very direct in his words to the hypocrites and leaders who were supposed to be helping the people come unto God but instead, only sought for their own welfare. Most of his teachings are very plain and easy to understand. Everyone has to just try to read a million things into them. The words will stand alone at the judgment day, and we will all be judged by them. He had plainly set his will up for us to follow in the scriptures. In addition, to clarify his teachings in the Bible in case of faulty translations he gave us additional scripture. These can be found in the Book of Mormon which is another witness for Jesus Christ.

    The discerner of thoughts is the Holy Ghost, and our Father in Heaven who knows our very thoughts and actions.

    Take the scripture in John 13: 14-17 Speaking to his disciples who were about to take on the responsibility of carrying on Christs church he taught:

    14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.

    15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

    16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.

    17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them.

    How much plainer can it be? Jesus was teaching his disciples that they should serve one another and the rest of humanity. To not put themselves above those they served even if they were the disciples of Jesus Christ.

    Don't read untrue interpretations into the scriptures or over analyze them accept them as they are and you will gain a greater understanding of their true meaning.

  2. The soul and the spirit are separate entities not the same.
