The county in which i live does not have a recycling program. Most counties have a container you fill up and take to the side of the road for collection. We don't! We can take our cans, plastics and glass to a neighboring county to recycle for money. Why wouldn't a recycling program be in effect here when we are a huge community bording Atlanta? What can i personally do to try and get one?

  1. Because Douglas county is mostly full of your more redneck, uneducated type of people.  I used to live on that side of Atlanta but not in that county.  I travelled there on business occasionally.

Anyway, it certainly wouldn't hurt to just contact your county commissioners about this issue.  I would suspect that the county is on the verge of getting one started anyway.  And it would help for the commissioners to hear from yet another citizen that they want a recycling program started up.

Here's a link to your officials, you can most likely write an email to them:

But this is the guy you want to talk to also, Tim Hussey at this link, as he is in charge of the landfill and recycling, which apparently they already have in place to some degree:

  2. if you can get money out of it, why complain. a lot of places in the united states have no recycling at curbside. if they have regular garbage pickup, toss the cra> away!
