  1. I don't think CNN or Fox news is very fair and balanced. I wonder at this point how much of the Republican convention they will offer. I guess we will know in a matter of days.

  2. I suppose it is selective programming at its best.  The main part of the Convention is boring so why show it.  Even the delegates are yawning and some are sleeping on others shoulders.  It really doesn't start coming alive until a key note speaker appears and that is what most stations feature.  John Kerry is an addendum so to speak to the Convention and doesn't add all that much.

  3. If I were outlander I'd be ashamed to say "they are catering to people like me". He's apparently fox news' target audience. As if its something to be proud of.

On this point, CNN only picked up the speech mid-way. Both cable news networks are doing an abysmal job, if for different reasons. I understand the pressures of ratings, entertainment, but I think they're both overdoing only covering the marquee speeches. Especially on monday, when you saw CNN commentators blasting the convention for lacking "red meat" when they only covered Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama's speeches.

I was going to ask this same question "isn't last election's nominee worth covering?" except CNN did pick up the speech mid-way.

  4. Fox News does not cater to liberals. They have more of a conservative  bent. Who wants to watch Kerry anyway? He's just another washed up political hack.

  5. Maybe they don't want to.  There are plenty of places to see it so they don't have to.  They are catering to people like me that would rather go blind than watch the DNC.
