Why doesn't Japan actively explore space if it doesn't have enough room?

It has a good incentive to do so since it doesn't have any room in their country. Why don't other countries put more effort, NASA seems to be the only one doing anything in space exploration.

  1. Because they don't need to. There is available land that is easier to access.

The Japanese have been buying land for a long time now. They own more land outside of their country than is in their country, most of it in the western United States.

  2. I think that they have an organization called the JAXA.

  3. Japan has a very active space program

  4. It's a lot cheaper to build skyscrapers on Earth than it is to build space colonies.  Hopefully once we have the technology to build some space elevators we can take your advice.

  5. It would be a long time before life is brought to the Moon or Mars, assuming it happens.

  6. 1. Because it would be very expensive and difficult to move into space. Much cheaper to move to another country or even build a man-made island (which they've done a few times.

    2. Because Japan's population is aging and will be cut by about 40% in the next 20-30 years.

Side note: Japan IS researching space exploration. So is China (they just sent someone up recently).

  7. yes, we are doing a lot of space exploration, but we are no where near the process of interplanetary colinization.

  8. Space exploration will not give anybody more room. There is no way that millions of people will be moving to other planets in your lifetime, and sending a couple hundred people per year on 2 weeks trips to space and back does not help at all with overcrowding on Earth.
