  1. The Asthenosphere is not a liquid.It is only semi solid. The crust and lithosphere floats as a ship in the sea. The Magma from asthenosphere is  rarely escapes as volcano.


  2. b/c its more dense and the asthenosphere is like a plastic ( can be free flowing) and the lithosphere is not. so it can sink.
