Why doesn't Yahoo's Beta player continue to detect my connection when I re-open the player?

Why the h**l is it that Yahoo's video player detects my internet connection and chooses the correct speed when I first sign in and launch a music video but then chooses a pitifully slow speed if I close the player and re-launch it?

make sure your settings are correct, make sure your internet is fast, it should come up fast, not slow
