Why doesn't a banana smell like banana?

I mean if you have a banana scented candle or something... and then you smell a banana, it smells nothing like it!

Same with something apple, orange, strawberry, watermelon etc. scented.

What's with that lol?

i dunno, but at least both taste good! lol

i actually agree heaps with you- i find that scented things always smell so weird compared to the real thing. seriously- who came up with the 'scent' of banana? (though banana scent is kinda nice)

and strawberry lollipops don't taste like strawberry... what?! LOL!!!
