  1. Distilled water is made by heating water until it evaporates, then the steam is collected so it can condense into another container. The minerals, which cause hardness dont evaporate, they stay in the original container.

  4. Because all the minerals were eliminated by distillation.  

  5. water becomes hard when minerals such as calcium and magnesium are dissolved in it Distilled water has no hardness since when water is boiled all the minerals are left and the water vapor is formed into distilled water
