I can hear it try to open but it won't. But when I disconnect the common wire from the solenoid it opens and runs fine, but then it won't shut off when another zone opens. Is the solenoid shot?

  1. i have thought about this question all day yesterday ,and part of today. MY FINAL ANSWER IS..the solenoid is either a D.C volt solenoid ,rather than a A.C. solenoid ,or you are kneeling in the dirt when you are disconnecting the solenoid common wire ,thus a common is formed.if that is not the case ,switch the green wire in the timer with the white.otherwise email me and i will help you free of charge. point at my avatar ,check my best answers to see if any relate.
