  1. hahaha i forgot about alaska to tell you the truth....

  2. Because Alaska doesn't have a population.

  3. I don't know. What about hawaii?

  4. Edmonton is no where near as far north or west as Alaska. It's over 1,000 from Anchorage  and Juneau (for examples) from Edmonton. It's also over 1,000 miles from Vancouver to Juneau.

I'm going to say it's travel-- it's just too far away, even for the west coast.

  5. Too far. Edmonton isn't.

  6. Like 5 people live there, man.

  7. Too cold??? hahaha  I lived there and it was   -65 the night we left... lol

  8. There are travel complications.  Travelling to Edmonton is bad enough, imagine the Lightning playing Alaska in the Cup finals.  They have to go from Tampa to Anchorage.  That's insane.  Plus it's so cold up there (lots of time in the NEGATIVE degrees), and there are periods of time when it's totally dark in the winter...I think 18 hours?  That's only 6 hours of sunlight!!  So that wouldn't really work.

I know Alaskans like hockey, but stick to cheering for a Canadian team or a college team.

  9. Not sure. They should though. Alaskan Huskies! Ahahhaah.

    Go Penguinssss!

  10. hahaha!!! Edmonton is right there is it? They're pretty far apart dude... They almost as far apart as Edmonton is from Ottawa. Way to further the stereotype that Americans know nothing of the world beyond their front doors.....

  11. maybe because edmonton is close enough?

  12. too far

  13. Too little people, too cold, heck do they even have tvs there?

    ___________

USA bought alaska for 7.2 million, Scott Gomez makes 7.3 million :D

  14. no wonder that _______ chris pronger left edmonton.

edmonton is nowhere near alaska...but it's probably due to the travel...and really the nhl has other plans on their plate like relocating all the sun based teams into canadian territory...or las vegas. imagine the san jose sharks or the ducks the new alaskan nhl team.

  15. IT is travel complication. It'd take forever and everyone would be exhausted.

  16. I think Alaska should have a team, especially considering the lack of any other pro teams in the state. It is also a sport that can be played there, as where here in LA we sell out games, but there is no where for the average person to play and identify with the game. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Ducks there in few years. Before they won the cup they were giving away all the tickets and calling games sell outs. They were rumored to be going to Portland, but I think Alaska would be better.

  17. Because it's Alaska?...

It's not exactly known for it's population for one thing....you need to have a good population to attend games and such.

  18. hmmm...good question but owners usually flock to areas where they can make the most money, such as LA and New York, not a place that attracts a lot of tourists, such as Hawaii and Alaska

  19. If Connecticut can't hold on to a hockey team Alaska doesnt have a shot in h**l.

  20. It's not a travel complication. Professional sports teams are located in large metropolitan areas where they can be supported by a certain percentage of the population. Alaska is pretty sparse in terms of population. The cities are not located close enough together to warrant a draw from other areas, either.

  21. Probably because it's too far. They have to pay the players already and then pay for them even more?

  22. my butt feels numb.

ive been sitting for too long
