Why is it whenever i do hear amy winehouse on the radio in the US she is always on a rock or pop station but never on an R&B station. I know she isn't from the US BUT she is considered an R&B artist. Amy Winehouse won a MOBO award which is a music of black orgin award. So why is it when she gets to the us they only play her on rock/pop stations? I not only see this with her but other artist like Nikka Costa as well. In fact i notice it with a lot of WHITE soul artist. R&B stations wont play them. Is there a reason why?

  1. because she sucks.

  2. Even though she's a "soul" artist, she is also Pop. Similar to Adele and Duffy. Whenever I hear Amy Winehouse it's always on alternative music stations, which I think is a good spot for her because she's not straight soul, but she's not Jessica Simpson or Mandy Moore either.

  3. She had one song come out and just basically been going down hill from there with all that crack

  4. her first album was jazz.

i think its because she has so much contreversy around her, they dont wanna bring more attention to her,

    i dono,

    its weird ay.

  5. She suxz and shouldn't have her g*y songs played ever!

And I mean that in the nices way possible :)

  6. Because even though she may be classified as a R&B artist, she is seen as a pop artist a far as most people are concerned... She is really not even a soul artist in my opinion...
