Why doesn't anybody like golf??

Question

golf is fun if you actually play it and it is cool because you dont need qualities like:

basketball - tall

football - big

baseball - strong( i like baseball )

golf - practice

Golf is seen as a "rich" man's sport.  You need time to practice which is tough for people who have to work to make a living.  It is also an expensive sport.  Green fees and/or club memberships are lots more expensive than the other sports you mention in your question.

It wouldn't be so bad, except for the phenomenon called "golf geek-itis", also known by other names.

The symptoms are that grown men walk around at work, at home, and generally in public "swinging" an invisible golf club to "practice" their swing.  They look like fcking retards, but no one seems to mind.  All this ghost practicing does nothing to help their game, and even if it did help their game, who gives a flying fck what your handicap or best score is?  Golf wastes more time and money than ANY other activity i can think of, except maybe drug addiction.  But then again, "golf geek-itis" is very similar to a drug addiction - complete with debilitating withdrawal symptoms, night tremors, decreasing brain function, missed work, lowered productivity, broken family's and high rates of divorce.

Because its slow and quiet. Normally people are like "Yeah tiger get some". Normally lots of people do stuff like that. Golf is just a sport where practice is key. Like the power of a swing.

One reason nobody likes to play is because it is one of the only sports you can play when you get old.

Another reason is because nobody likes to be outside all day in the sun playing a game that is harder to master than baseball, football, and basketball combined.  

Nobody likes to get out of the house and stay active their whole life, because some people are satisfied playing video games and watching TV.

Nobody like golf but as it turns out even on the back side of the earth in Aus. there are over one million avid golfers.  

26 million people in the world play while 4.6 of those here in the USA could tell you in English that golf is great.

I have played every sport competivly and golf is the most rewarding and the most challenging by far.  

It is going to be hard to shoot hoops when I am 88.  I can just see it (in a raspy voice) ,'Hey you youngster I got game...Bring it on wooper-snapper!'

It's only a mult-million dollar industry. I think there are a lot of people out there that like and love golf.

Golf is a fun sport. The problem is some people can't get away for anywhere from 1-3 hours on a small course(executive or par 3) or 4 1/2 to sometime 6 1/2 hours on a full size course. There is also the addition of having to make a tee time pay anywhere from $20 for a not so good course to hundreds of dollars for a top notch course.

Pflem you are almost correct, it is actually a multi-billion dollar sport, The big three golf companies made over a billion dollars each last year.

especially at a young age there are many kids who consider the sport of golf as a whoosie sport...

It does not take a lot of strength or energy but i think more people should try it.  Especially as you get older it is one of the best sports to play and a way to get out of the house.  It really serves as a social sport.

that's ridiculous question....there millions of people that love and play golf.

its the one sport that people of almost any psychical ability can get together and go out and enjoy a afternoon with there friends plus it keeps you limber and if you walk the course its great exercise.

drive by almost any golf course on the weekend and check out the parking lot. I bet the are full. at least in the Midwest.

i am a 14 year old who is off 12. Now that is a lot lower than many men who enjoy the game.

im not big or strong or tall for that matter of fact nad tbh i hate it when people say how can you play golf.

so i think people need to be incredably careful when you say anytihng like that becasue they are ruling out the fact that many people could play ot a high level..

yes the game is amazing i love it want a on going career in it so people who think you have ot be any special qualitys..

so and try it yourself before you cna say its boring..

but i luv glow-in-the-dark putt putt because its fun and exciting......and it glows in the dark!!!
