Why doesn't anybody smile in their picture?

Question

Well, i was just browsing around some yahoo answers, for questions like, "am i model material", because thats someting i want to do, i want to know what the requqirements are, BUT! when i was browsing through their pictures, NOBODY smiles. and i looked through pictures from my myspace friends, and nobody smiles, they look at you like thier depressed, or like they want to kill you. What happened to a decent smile?

I know, they always do that stupid pout or some stupid face that isn't attractive. What is wrong about a nice pretty smile? Well I smile all the time in pictures. =]

I smile in my myspace pictures. :D I mean every single one of my pictures isn't some happy smile but over 80 percent are, I think a smile just kind of lights up your face and makes you look so much better than just.. staring at the camera.

I think bad teeth might have something to do with some of it.. though I don't have perfect teeth, I kinda have my two front teeth a little longer than the others and my canines look a little like fangs sometimes but I'm like "Hey, my teeth are as dorky as I am!"

I also think you NEED to be able to smile to be a model, have people never noticed just how many models are smiling in pictures? Who wants to buy like.. I don't know.. a new kind of shampoo for example from someone who looks depressed? I sure don't, it would only make me think "Man.. if their shampoo makes their models that sad I sure don't want it."

I guess the no smile thing is what's 'in' now. I'm a teenager though (18) and I've never really 'gotten' any of the trends that seem to be spreading like wildfire through the teen community over the past few years.

But anyway, smiles are good... I wish people would smile more often. :)

well my friend never smiles in her pictures and it's because for some reason she thinks that she doesn't look as good when she smiles. it's some weird self conscious thing. but it's silly because most ppl look more beautiful with those pearly whites showing!
