Why doesn't anyone give credit to the Giants for their Super Bowl win last year?

"The Patriots had a bad day"

"The Giants got lucky"

"It was a fluke type of a game"

I always hear these excuses when it is explained why the Giants beat the Patriots. No one seems to give the Giants any credit, instead saying stuff like the Pats chose a bad day to not play hard.

Being a Packer fan, I still was impressed by the Giants in the Super Bowl win. They completely outplayed the Patriots. Why doesn't anyone give the Giants any credit?

You're just realizing this?? I've been a Giants fan since 1984 and that's all we've heard. They thought the Bills would blow em out in Super Bowl 25..NOPE..they thought Elway was gonna pass for 400 yards against them in Super Bowl 21..NOPE

Honestly, I am a Packer fan as well, and thought the Giants did a great job!  This was a totally different team than we faced earlier in the season, and they definitely deserve the credit for everything they did last season!  I loved the Super Bowl last year-best one in a long time!

It was great seeing the Giants who were the underdogs come back and beat the untouchable Patriots!

I give giants credit, it's just that die hard fans don't accept it, no matter the costs.  It's there opinions and I think in they're heart they know they're wrong.

I guess because honestly do u think if the pats and giants played the best of 3 do really think the giants would win twice no way. Giants won they did what they were suppose to do but Tom Coughlin doesnt deserve any credit his two coordinators do.

beacuse people cant get it through their heads the patriots got beat...even though i dont like giants that much either...pats are ok...but to simply say it the better team won.PERIOD

theres always gona be upsets in sports, thas wut makes sports so great, ull always hear bitter pats fans about the loss and ull always hear loudmouth giants fans talkin bout the win, but u kno wut it's part of sports and that competitiveness that we all have to say our team is better than urs.......overall the giants have the credit for their win in the sb last year on their hands (ring)...but that was last year...les talk bout this year BOYS!!!

It's probably just because of the are where you live in. After the Giants pulled that upset, everyone that I know who knows football gave the Giants alot of credit. I live in the bay area and I'm a raider fan. Most of those people who heard that stuff from are probably haters of NY or the Giants.

It was a fluke. The Pats had a bad day, the giants recievers had very lucky catches. The Giants played a good game and thats all, they don't deserve credit for a lucky game. There are way better teams all around and the Giants are not one of them.

You can't fluke into a Super Bowl win. This isn't a silly college bowl game you get voted into.

They had to go TO Green Bay, Dallas and play the Patriots. They had the toughest road possible, and they pulled it off. Good for them.

By the way, I'm not a Giants fan either. I just recognize a champion when I see one. I've always thought Tom Coughlin was underrated. His teams are very good at managing games.

Edit: Of coures Tom Coughlin deserves credit.

check NFL Network, the Giants are their fav team.  THey replay that Super Bowl every single day 4 times and now that they made an Americas Team show for that Super Bowl, they will just play that 24 hours a day now im sure.

if Your team sucks and, another team that, You think is at or, below their level rises up to smash the "experts" pick as, the best team in football in the mouth, it hurts. all You can think is "why not Us?"

after the past couple of seasons, I don't put much stock in the experts. they have picked the COWBOYS, to win it all for the past 3 years. this is a team that, hasn't won a playoff game since, 1996! get with reality. no matter how good a team thinks they are, You still have to play the games.

Honestly, I think a lot of it comes down to the fact the quarterback is Eli Manning, and a lot of people can't stand to say Eli is good at all.

Im a fan from NY and I give them credit.  Packer fans have BY FAR been the most class about it, and I have gained an all new respect for their fanbase.  I wish the packers well in the NFC North.  Although, Cowboy and Patriot fans are by far the most bitter....and I love it!
