Why doesn't avg 8 free addition scan for rootkits?

It says it includes a rootkit scanner and when i went into it you can't check the box that says scan for rootkits. Yahoo anti spy keeps picking up a sonyrootkit but can't delete it...why won't this scanner?

that's because scanning for rootkits is a premium offer which you have to buy a license to get that option
