Why doesn't caffeine work for me?

I have tried almost every kind of beverage with caffeine. I do drink soda very often, and one drink i drink a lot of is Jolt, but it never wakes me up. I can drink 2 red bulls then fall asleep 30 minutes later. Even if i drink a couple cups of coffee, i dont get any effect, other than the one i was in before i drank it.

the only thing that seems to be able to keep me awake if i want to stay awake late at night is my determination.

  2. Maybe you've built up a resistance to it.

    From the sounds of it, you drink a lot of caffeine, so maybe over time you've gotten a huge tolerance level for it.

  3. caffine is a mystery...it doesnt work on everyone...i drank a monster in da middle of da nite and fell asleep 15 minutes later and slept da whole nite...i drank another monster on mi final exams and i ended up getting sleepy wen i was done...der is no answer about caffine...

  4. If you drink it all the time your body will get used it and it will lose its effect. Maybe you shld try not to drink caffeine f a while then start again

  5. Do you consume caffeine all the time? Your body eventually gets used to it and adapts which weakens the effect. I had a friend in school that drank at least 2 pots (yes pots) of coffee each morning. He was always pretty calm, not wired or bouncing off the walls because he was used to it.

    I try my best to avoid caffeine so I can get restful sleep at night. When I do have a soda or Excedrin (which has caffeine) I'm usually wired and jittery the whole day.

    If you're looking for the buzz, you might try laying off the caffeine for a couple of months so your body gets used to it NOT being in your system all the time.
