  1. Because it's not cheap.  It is in fact more expensive than petroleum based fuels.

  2. Not so much a new car, but the engine would need to be specifically designed to use it. The problem is that using fuels based on things like grain will cause food shortages and higher costs of living as demand for grain to make more and more fuel increases. Sadly, our economic setup isn't geared up for it. It would be great if everyone drove a biofuel car, but if we did, none of us would be able to afford a loaf of bread!

  3. We only have so much agricultural land.  One study showed that if all of the UK's agricultural land were used to grow fuel crops, it would only provide 20% of their transportation fuel needs.  Then there's that pesky problem of not having any food.

The more biofuels we grow, the less land we have to grow food and the higher food prices will go.  Thus while biofuels are environmentally beneficial on a small scale, we can't rely too heavily on them.

Also yes, you need a diesel car to use biodiesel fuel.  Gas cars can use ethanol blends, but corn-based ethanol isn't much of an improvement because it doesn't contain as much energy as gasoline.

  4. Apparently everybody is too ignorant to realize she said biomass, but Ethanol. Bio fuels can be made from various thing such as corn, vegtable oil, and believe it, the left overs from car recycling. When recycling cars, various stuff couldnt be, such ad interiors. All of that can be made into bio fuels cheaply. So yea, nothing posted before me was right, lol. Its both cheap and easy to make, just not as easy to market as Ethanol. Our country, the US, only cares about money, not the planets well being. There are the freaks like me though that would rather invest money in our planets future, then needless garbage to satisfy myself.

  5. because of the money hungry executives , big oil companies make billions. and they dont want to take a cut in pay

  6. because fuel is expensive and if the goverment catches u trying to make more cheaper or biofuel it will stop sales of gas and the goverment will arrest u

  7. i think its because its expensive
