Why doesn't glue stick to the bottle?

Hello Miss ? Glue needs air to cure. If you keep the top on,it won`t dry. If you take the top off It will dry. Different glues need different curing time. The thinner the glue the faster It dries.

It`s like nail polish. It will stay In the bottle almost forever. If you put one coat It will dry but If you put on a heavy coat It will take forever to dry and will be tacky.

What makes the glue liquid - in the bottle - is the water content of the glue. When the bottle is closed - there is not enough air for evaporation.  When glue leaves the bottle - or the bottle is left open - the water evaporates. The glue dries and sticks things together - because it loses the moisture by evaporation. ♥

If you are talking about super glue, it is anaerobic.

It only sets when air is removed from it, and if you notice, the bottle is never full.  Other glues need to dry, and usually don't dry in the bottle, due to the wet glue fume atmosphere inside.

Glues have different adhesion properties.  Some are instant like contact cement, others need drying time upon contact.  Usually the longer it takes to harden, the stronger the bond.  Open the bottle and leave the cap off and you will see it stick.

Is there a poem about glue coming soon?  I will roll out my sign glues and start glueing in tune!
