Why doesn't it matter?

Why doesn't it matter to anyone that the "President of the United States" might refuse to say the Pledge of Allegiance to the United States? How can you in good conscience as an American, vote for someone who is not devoted to America enough to Pledge their allegiance her? I dont care what religion you are, what color you are, or what national origin you come from. If you want to become a citizen of the United States, you have to pledge your allegiance, but we as Americans are going to omit this of our Commander and Chief, our most high office if Obama wins...I dont get this...Omit the under God, change it to Ala or who ever you choose to worship, but Pledge your allegiance to America. Many men and women have died for this right so that we are one nation not under Britian, or France or Spain, but AMERICA! How can we ask foriegners to do this but not our Senators, Leaders, and most of all, Our President?

  1. The Pledge of Allegiance is not the all deciding factor for me. I haven't pledged allegiance since I was in grade school, and not because the opportunity hasn't presented itself. I am d**n proud to be an American, and it makes me sick that people didn't get a real appreciation for their country until AFTER 9/11. I am not going to start pledging to a flag now just because everyone does it. Does it make you angry when you see people wearing a flag shirt, or a flag pin? Or how about when you see dirty flags waving? All of these things are unacceptable, its not patriotic, its disrespectful. You know who I pledge my allegiance to? The men and women who fight for this country, and I celebrate with them, as I always have, not just on their special day but every time I see them. Standing in front of a flag and placing your hand over your heart and spouting words does NOT make you an American. Its in your actions. Think about that.

  2. do you really think that quoting something makes a difference at all...if thats all it takes to be a good citizen thats a pretty sad situation...why would you want to FORCE someone to do it, they should either want to or just not do it

  3. Nothing seems to matter any more,America is becoming a cesspool of Liberals who want God out of everything and respect for our Flag has reached an all time low! People are acting as though Obama is Christ at his second advent and all I can say is God have mercy on America!

  4. I think everyone stopped pledging allegiance to the flag when they graduated the 5th grade.

America is not a cult we should worship.  It's a country we live in.

And if this is really the most important issue to you, you don't deserve the right to vote.

  5. Actually, we are the United States of America.

America is the entire western hemisphere.  Its been called that since the 16th century, long before the US became a country.   The US is just one country in "America."

  6. it's impossible

    funny though...

John mayer makes a good point

we are all "waiting on the world to change" and yet no one has the courage to set a middle ground because they believe they are right. Beliefs are opinions and opinions aren't facts.

He does say the Pledge. That's why it doesn't bother me. He's also not Muslim and never has been. This is an old rumor and I'm amazed that you still buy into it. Do a little research.
