Why doesn't my Avitar display to the person I have IM'd and I can't see theirs either, however I can see mine?

Also, I can see the white box where their Avitar should be and the symbol to allow you to view an Avitar is in the positon as though the Avitar were visible?

Close your box and wait for them to IM you, sometimes that works. If not, click on the arrow under the white box, go to Share Picture, put up a pic...any pic, and then click share avatar, and that should work.
