Why doesn't my Hp webcam work?

Today I went to walmart and bought an HP web cam. I installed everything that it said to install. but When i went to install the actual HP drivers, it stopped at 80% and a little box popped up and said "Error 20"

I went to "My computer" and it had a little video camera icon and when i opened it I saw that it was what the web cam was pointing to. And it took pictures. So i figured it was going to work fine. But no, I signed up for Stick-am and it didn't detect my web cam.

Idk if Its my computer or the webcam.

I have windows XP

What do I do? Why isnt it working? Should I take it back and get the same one/better HP one, or should I just get a whole different webcam brand thing?

  1. did you install all the software before actually pluggin in the webcam, many usb products require the software to be fully installed, and will then prompt to plug in the webcam once installed

  2. It's not the webcam. You forgot to allow stickam access to your webcam.

Try checking the Stickam FAQ and forums before going elsewhere.
