Why doesn't my Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 game work?

I have installed it and everything, but once it gets passed the credits in the begging, it stays at a black screen. is there something i have to install? what do i do?

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is a beast of a game.  It has high system requirements as well. Your video card or drivers is most likely your problem.  Try upgrading the drivers first.  Goto the maker of the card's web site and download and install the newest drivers.  Unless you have a recent card (three years old or less) you may not be able to play the game.  Also, make sure you have directx 9c installed.  Microsoft's web site is where you can get that.  If this does not help, head over to www.rollercoastertycoon.com and search the forums.  Lots of good help there.
