Why doesn't my brother defend me?

He's a good brother, but whenever i get into any trouble, he never sticks up for me.

All my mates siblings will stick up for them and even physically fight for them but my stupid brother wont.

It's not because he's scared. He's a boxer and is quite capable of beating anyone up.

He wont even stick up for me over the internet !

At the moment, this girl is causing a lot of trouble for me ( and him ) over the internet and he just tells me stupid things like ignore her.

  1. Because he is smart and doesnt want to start anymore new troubles.

  2. he thinks you should fight your own battles.

    internet quarrel? come on.

  3. He's right about the internet fight. Ignore it. Just stop talking to tht person.

  4. Hate to agree with your brother, but... yeah, ignore them.  Remember, if this is someone on the internet, there are about a million ways to ditch them,  block them, ignore then, to where they can't ever talk to you again.

As I am pretty sure that every person on the world wide web has ignored at lead 20 people since 1999, LOL

It's just that easy to do...

  5. sometimes... brothers are like that.. it almot makes u feellike they dont care... but they do.... but when u grow up u arent goign to have ur brother on ur side all thetime

  6. b/c they are the choices u make, y should he have to do something for u, when it might have been a stupid choice by u, apparently this guy is really smart and mature

  7. Tell him straight, he's your strong brother and you want him to be there for you. Not get into trouble on your behalf, but to help you out. You will no doubt repay him ten times over when his wife runs away with his kids!

  8. maybe he's trying to handle the situation peacefully because you should know that you can't fight fire with fire cause all you do is make it worse so try it his way and if doesn;t work then approach him about it

  9. Your brother is far more mature than you are, and he has enough sense to choose his battles wisely, which you don't, at least not yet. He also knows that violence is NOT the way to solve problems and deal with people, because it just plain doesn't work, no matter what you think. Apart from this, your brother is under NO OBLIGATION whatever to support or defend you for any reason- he has his own life to lead. He doesn't owe you a living, and neither does the rest of the world- and you need to realize this, little girl !!

Learning how to solve problems on your own, without being violent or nasty, is part of growing up- a big part of it. You need to get over yourself.

  10. my brothers are the complete opposite of yours...its sometimes bugs me..

my brother who is 15 (im 14) will not stick up for me that much.but he still will.

but my brothers who just turned 20 and 23 will stick up for me.(and they are overprotective.)

and sometimes my 7 year old brother will too.

i just guess some brothers dont think its their responsibility to do that. and that if you make your own choices you should take care of it yourself.

but i dont have any sisters. just 4 brothers so they do think its their responsibility.

  11. Defend yourself!

You cant rely on someone to defend you all your life you gotta be strong yourself!

  12. What do you want him to do over the internet? Are you hoping he beats up the girl harassing you? Your brother's right, it's a stupid internet fight. Ignore her. Fight your own fights, and if you can't defend yourself, don't pick fights.

I guess that's a little harsh. If there are kids jumping you for no reason or something, he ought to help you out if you're outnumbered. Try talking to him and asking him to take your side sometimes. But seriously, if it's a one-on-one fight, don't play dirty and bring your brother in to fight your battles. Follow your brother's advice and ignore them.
