Question:

Why doesn't my brother like my kid?

He is quick to harshly reprimand my daughter even when I am right there to handle the situation. He has kids who are a little younger than our kids. My daughter is well behaved, and he would never talk to his own kids the way he talks to mine. What to do?

  1. I would ask him what he has against your daughter. Its not normal. Next time he says something to your child and you are standing there, just simply say, you know what, I can handle this. Something that simple could put him in his place! If it doesn't then you need to talk to him about how you feel. It will be hard but he may not even realize he is acting this way.

  2. Why don't you ask your brother instead of random strangers over the internet?

  3. Tell him firmly that you will handle all the discipline when it comes to your child.  Also tell him that you don't appreciate his harshness and impatience with your child.

  4. I would tell him that you are her mother and will discipline your own child.

  5. I would let him know, in no uncertain terms how i felt, and that he would not be speaking to my kids like that any more, or my kids, and myself would be leaving and wouldnt be back until he could learn to conduct himself as an adult.
