Why doesn't my camaro run right?

my dad has a 1993 3.4liter v6 and he replaced the head gasket and after putting it all back together and he starts it it idles rough when it warms up, its drivable but its hard to keep it idling and it runs better when its cold

  1. Check the wiring and connectors on all of the sensors on the engine, and make sure the spark plug wires are hooked up right. You may have a pinched wire or loose connection to a sensor, or crossed iginition wires.

It sounds like a vacuum leak or one of the vacuum hoses not route properly.  This is extra air that your engine does not sense as it does not go through the Mass Air Sensor so in essense your car is running lean.  The probable reason that it runs better when cold is the coldstart circuits are kicked in, enriching the fuel and leveling out the fuel air ratio- kinda like a choke on a carburator.

  4. Check the intake gasket by spraying ether or propane around the intake....if the engine revs up then you have an intake leak.

  5. you have a vacume leak in there somewhere, lines intake
