Why doesn't my chick shut up?

i got a little chicken and it never shuts up.. only when it sleeps..

it gets soo.. annoying sometimes.. help??

your chick is crying because it is lonely and unhappy

Chicks cry loudly when they are stressed so it is either too cold or not getting enough food and it needs its mum and the company of others.

so feed it and give it warmth

why do you even have a chick?

If you are annoyed by a chicks call why do you have it???

I mean that's like complaining at a baby for crying

It's just a lonely little baby :( It wants attention and food and somebody to show it a good time.

Maybe if you gave it more attention, it would stop crying? Carry it around with you, snuggle it and don't leave it alone for very long. Chickens are normally very social animals.

That's what they are supposed to do, it's ingrained in nature so it will get fed more.  I question if you really want a chicken at all, why did you get it?  And did you get just one?  Unless you are going to be around to keep it company all the time, birds should always come in two's so they have each other for company.  Do you know it's a female?  If it turns out to be a male, you think you got noise now - just wait :)

What do you expect?  It was sitting with it's sisters and brothers under it's mother's warm tummy and now????

Why did you buy it?

Put it under a lamp to keep it warm and make sure it's tummy is full.
