I bought an external hard drive 250gig and it only works sometimes. Only when it is upside down, weird. Now, it not working at all. It turns on, but can't hear it whirring and doens't turn up on my computer. Don't have warranty. What might be wrong with it? How to fix it?

  1. Dunno.

  2. playing with it may of corupted the hard drive even more that why most people have a back ups made of there harddrives a new one is only around $50.00 and just learn for the future.

  3. Your hard disk may be crashed ( means that it has broken not physically but by shutting down you computer by directly switching off the power of your computer) or it has been very old and needs servicing.

    There are many more reasons.

This is my advice 2 u that call a computer engineer to check it out.

A visit would cost more than 100 bugs. I think so because i have also experience of my hard disk getting crashed.
